Nothing In My Way

07 came literally with a bang... Bombs in Bankok... Wha I was damn scared that there would be a recall or smt... I was like reading each SMS with trepidation... Luckily nothing much... Just well wishers... Whew... In the morn, I met Chin Leng, Eugene Q, Shi Hui + Wei Lin for a movie... Right in the end we ended up in BK for a chit chat session... What an interesting way to spend the New Year... Yup there is officially nothing to do at TM... Then it was off to class outing at Merd's house... I guess it was very successful with almost eveybody attending... Woah I arrived early and ended up playing with her dog, Candy... Nothing that I can't handle... MP training... Really Multi Purpose!

I listened to the other guys talking abt their army experience... Alex u sucker... S1 sia! Officer somemore... Damn super slack sia! Everyday eat and sleep in the office! I see tt's where all our taxpayers' money are going to! Boon Keng too... Stare at the wall somemore... Haha anyway to the peeps who get admin/HQ jobs, gd for ya! Enjoy and cherish the remaining life in NS... And thank ur lucky stars too... The only sad thing was Reeve... NDU... Listened to him recount the torture... I was shocked and stunned... Yes I will not mince my words! TORTURE! I guess somebody "up there" has redefined "training"... Sure it makes pulling out ur fingernails sound almost too kind... Oh right somebody pls give me hypothermia! Then perhaps I can go for an op and downgrade to PES E... Wait tt's too kind... Is ice the worse u can give? Why not liquid nitrogen? Then I can become Terminator 2!!! Cool right?

Then it was gift exchange and pic taking sessions... Woah and I must add tt it was a feast... There was homemade fondue... Cool!!! Thanks to Merd for being such a gracious host... t was really gd to see the guys again... Daniel as usual forever looking blur... Ben the crazy bugger! Playing FFXII... Kar Wee the med student... Reeve... Diver/Pilot trainee... (Remind me to spar with u on some flight sim game after u graduate... Let's see who rules!!!) Matt Ling... Sia la driving car sia... Chun meng... Waiting to commission... Han Qun... Still part of 04S63!

Today afternoon I met James and he guided me to Redhill where we spent the whole afternoon looking at cars... Woah...Lots of cars to see... Especially my dream ride! Audi TT!!! Hiaz... 6 digits... Wait 10 yrs maybe? Haha we'll see... More realistically, I narrowed the search to 3 cars... "Chicken Rice", "Char Kway Teow" and "Hokkien Mee"... Yep "Macs", "KFC" and "Beef steak" are just too ex! Just a few more lessons to go... Hopefully I'll accomplish 1 of the top 10 "to do lists" in 1 try... So exciting! So scary too!

Right... This year is an exciting year... Cos life can only get better!!! Confirm, gurantee plus chop! It WILL get better... Seniority has its benefits... Can't really say much though... Haha tt's what makes life exciting! Then of course there are things that I am eagerly anticipating... That's why this year my theme is "Nothing In My Way"!!! Because nothing can stop me now... Nothing can stop me from ORDing... Nothing can stop me from getting my freedom, my driver's licence, playing com games/Xbox, singing in VC, carolling, taking over the world etc etc... It's full steam ahead and no looking back... The Calvin of 06 is dead, buried and forgotten... Now it's just the same old brand new me again... The last year was terrible... Just wanna forget it... This cannot, that cannot... Feels like some prisoner... But the break came during caroling few weeks back... When I "strategically" plunked my leave like pieces on a Risk board, I knew I had made a small step for myself, but a big step for freedom... The turning point from destruction to redemption... The salient push towards surreal life and liberty... It was there and then the truth jolted me... No one, not even army can take away my passion and my freedom... Caroling proved it. And I didn't need to use my trump cards... Yep I shall save them all for this year... To put it in a commonly used cliche... I love to be "David"... Cos football is not played on paper... So tt gives "David" a chance to win "Goliath" especially if he has his trump cards primed with lethal efficiency... Hopefully I won't let "David" down! In fact the apprentice may even surpass the master... Although it works both ways but tt's another story...
