Carolling at Raffles

Yesterday, it was group 2's turn to go carolling at Raffles Hotel! We reached the Lady Sophia suite at 5 and the teacher issued us our dinner coupons... We almost got lost trying to find the cafeteria. It was in the basement. The food was ok and we had free flow of drinks. We learned how to be independent cos we had to take our own food(buffet!) and clear away all our plates and cups(serious!). After warm ups, we went to this plaza to carol. It was quite bad. Most of the songs were flat but it's because we had little time for warm ups.

The second time we went to the hotel lobby. The acoustic there was better(not as good as Ritz though) and we sounded better. It was quite scary cos the Tenors were outnumbered(we only had 4 tenors) and some of the parts we weren't very sure like In Dulci. Other then that it was a good performance. Luckily for the 3rd session at the courtyard, we had reinforcements. Jian Hao and Jonathan joined us. In my opinion the 3rd session was the best cos we didn't really made a lot of mistakes and plenty of group 1 ppl helped us. There were however some slackers like Joel and Shawn who decided to join the audience instead of helping us. We also sang Gaudete and Ben Tan and I blasted the solo. It was so cool. It was damn tiring carolling for 3 half hour sessions... However it was quite memorable. Soon it will be Christmas Day!!!

"City Sidewalks Busy Sidewalks
Dressed In Holiday Style
In The Air There's A Feeling Of Christmas
Children Laughing People Passing
Meeting Smile After Smile
And On Every Street Corner You Hear
Silver Bells Silver Bells
It's Christmas Time In The City
Ring A Ling Hear Them Ring
Soon It Will Be Christmas Day
Strings Of Street Lights Even Stoplights
Blink A Bright Red And Green
As The Shoppers Rush Home With Their Treasures.
Hear The Snow Crunch See The Kids Bunch
This Is Santa's Big Scene
And Above All This Bustle You Hear
Silver Bells Silver Bells
It's Christmas Time In The City
Ring A Ling Hear Them Ring
Soon It Will Be Christmas Day"
