Boxing Day

Today is Boxing Day! It's quite a sad day cos frankly this Christmas is a sham. I feel like Christmas was like some ordinary day. Maybe it's because I spent the entire day with the choir instead of with my family. I thought maybe today it would be better. I was wrong. My relatives came but they didn't stayed long. I guess tmr they have to go back to work. Right.... I guess I'll just list the 5 hits and misses that happened to me this Christmas............

Misses
I'm pessimistic so I'm gonna talk abt the misses!!! 1stly, Christmas doesn't feel like Christmas this year!!! My family didn't bring out the Christmas tree from the storeroom. That makes my house like so boring, it really negates the Christmas atmosphere.
2ndly, I was damn tired. I didn't go out to visit my church friends the night before Christmas to countdown with 'em. Rather I was sleeping at home cos carolling for 5 days in a row is damn tiring. I think I lost my voice today! I couldn't sing at church today and my voice was like damn hoarse.
3rdly, it was partially my fault. I was lazy and never wrote any Christmas cards to anyone this year. I'm quite surprised that I didn't do anything! This really took away part of the Christmas feeling.
4thly, I didn't wish many ppl(excluding the choir members and my family) Merry Christmas cos I didn't see them on Christmas Day. I only saw them today but then it was to late. Wishing ppl on Christmas Day cannot be substituted with some other day...
Finally, I didn't enjoy Christmas cos I was so busy with carolling that I didn't spend much time with my family members. However with all the misses there are bound to be some...

Hits
As I spent most of the time with the choir members due to carolling, I managed to make new friends with the yr 0s. I got to know Darren who was a fellow tenor in my group and Asik the Alto who's now in tenor from VS, Grace the nice but "bad mood" girl and Si Ying who are Wei Lin's juniors from Dunman High, and my own juniors from Tk, Marie from Alto, Caroline from Sop, Marcus, Dennis from Tenor, Jeremy and Justin Ong from bass. Of course I can't forget the usual suspects Wei Lin, Kai Wen, Shawn, Joel, Chin Leng, Eugene and Zi Yi. I guess it makes this Christmas unique.
2ndly, I received very little presents. I actually received more Christmas cards. Ok that may sound crazy but then it's the thought that counts. I feel really bad cos I didn't write any cards this year. However I'm very grateful for those who gave me presents or christmas cards. Thank You...
3rdly, carolling was the main event this Christmas. It was my first time carolling at Raffles and Ritz and also my 1st time seeing so many senoirs pack into Raffles lobby to sing Christmas carols! It was really an eye opener. Carolling rocks cos I think music is the best way to spread the Christmas cheer.
4thly, it was an honour to sing with the seniors again. Their humour and voices will be missed. It was funny to see the seniors like Cenwei, Kim Seng, Dai Feng, Fatt Sheng, James, Ching Lok, Serene and co joking with us. Kinda reminds me of Germany. There were also the chorale, yr 3s and Nelson who joined us for the last session. Really surreal man. I'm starting to miss carolling already...
Finally it was the food and shopping. The sandwiches from Ritz were damn nice and I bought a lot of cheap clothes during the Christmas period. I also ate a lot of food on Christmas day cos of the bbq steamboat and turkey, ham, salmon, sausages, ice cream and logcake in today's family gathering.

It has been an unique christmas this year. I spent more time carolling with my friends then with my family and relatives. It was an interesting experience. I guess this is part of growing up... To conclude, here's wishing everyone a Merry Christmas, Happy Boxing Day, and a Happy New Year 2005!!!
