Rank Indeed Does Have Its Privileges

For my first(of many) HTSD report, I'm going to highlight a commonly used military cliche. Rank does have its privileges. Indeed all of us I'm sure are guilty of this at one point of time or another, albeit some more then others. I am (starting to) tread on sensitive waters over here, so I have to keep it as vague as possible. For the full declassified report, check back with me 5 yrs later!

Common examples include the XJ/LJ (Who loves birds? I just love em especially if they are old!) system, NSF vs Regulars (duh!), early dismissal, better hours (in terms of sleep during duty days) & others et al...

Rarer examples include personal vehicles(the so called MAD (sic) fleet of Mercs and Audis), personal bodyguards, personal chauffeurs, restaurant food, direct access to outer space via rocket instead of climbing the ladder step by step (that appeared in the news recently!), easier methods to climb a hill and of course the usual direct orders. (which I had the unique honour to experience it personally today...)

Of course I can't say much... Let's just say it involved my superiors getting ordered by 3 certain sea animals... Cool huh? Ok never mind if you don't get it... If you do, congrats! You either have a good imagination, love the military to the core or can read my mind...

So after that unique experience, it got me thinking real, real hard... I guess that's why the Singapore government (& including Singaporeans) are so fascinated with the number 7... You know 07/07/07, James Bond (007) or Golden Ball's ex jersey no... Speaking of which I guess the privileges of rank could rival that of Golden Balls himself, sans the media hype... That's why there's 5 main types of classification... What about the multi million dollar transfer fee? No such thing here right? After all we don't have AEG, who sponsored the transfer of Becks to LA Galaxy? But we do have many Singaporeans...

Woah hold on... If you are pro enough, kudos to you... I didn't even say anything classified... It's all a perfectly innocently unclassified post... After all you probably came to the conclusion on your own, not from what I say... In fact I'm sprouting nonsense... Or am I?
