The Calm Before The Storm

The Best Week of the month is here at last. Why so you ask? Well for starters, I'm only working for 1 day this week... On a Thursday... So basically I'll be slacking around for the remaining 6 days of the week... Hiaz what to do? When someone is forced to clear leave, he ain't gonna just comply without a fight... He'll do the most damage along the way... Evil? Definately not! Between forcing ppl to clear leave and taking leave on days that do most damage, the latter is the lesser of 2 evils... After all, leave is a privilege, and in retrospect, what's wrong with using that "privilege" in the most opportune time?

Opportune time? Yep that's the present. Why? Cos as I mentioned in the title, when I return, all hell would break lose... Major changes for the worse will be in effect for the remaining dark days... Hell, in fact it's already started since last Wed... I'm merely using my "privilege" to "siam" a little of the storm, so to speak. Life is gonna be gloomy... Yeah a disheartening 100 days to endure... And I thought life could only get better... I was wrong... I admit my SCIE (Special Calvin Intelligence Estimate) was wrong... I was fooled by the most elaborate plans ever... Perhaps I underestimated my nemesis... I tell you I was so shocked when I heard a language so foul it probably put the tainted language of Mordor to shame on Wednesday... My jaw dropped so much that I strained to close it... It turned my legs to jelly... So cursed was the language that I vowed I would try my best to escape its manipulation...

Now because of standard protocols of the SCIE, most of the information & intel are classified top secret... Those that I can declassify, I will do so. So the only way to discover what this language is is to ask me after 5 yrs! And the add more water into an already bloated stomach (ouch!), it's going to be the norm every morning and on some afternoons!!! Die liao la... I really made a super big mistake to think that I would cruise to the end... Now the football cliche "It ain't over till the fat lady sings!" has come back to haunt me... Fcuk man... The only way I can see myself escaping from the clutches of this quagmire is divine intervention or the routine call of duty... Life is getting more sucky by the moment... Gosh it feels like a free fall towards negative infinity... Something like a -tan x graph, where x ranges from 0 to 90...

So what's the plan? The plan is to enjoy life now until next week and then we'll see... By see I mean the standard SOP... Low profile, being an Oscar worthy winner and using every ounce of skill to be a hero & ensure my survival for the last 100 days...

Speaking of heroes... This month I've watch the 3 big blockbusters of the month... Transformers, HPTOTP & Die Hard 4.0 (finally!)... To my utmost surprise, Die Hard 4.0 was the best show of the 3 though if felt a tad too long... I mean there was lots of action, explosions, suspense, dry wit and plain perseverance to go around... And Maggie Q kicking Bruce's butt justified the 7 bucks spent (not to mention the police car blowing the helicopter up[or rather down!])... And of course the references to star wars was damn funny... Transformers, on the other hand, felt too short (partly cos I'm a die hard fan)... Action, explosions, suspense, dry wit and perseverance, check... And put in Megan Fox... 'Nuff said right? Well to some extent... Yeah it's cool to see CGI autobots & decepticons blowing each other to smithereens (with the help of the US army) but unfortunately the transformations and the battle scenes all look either too familiar or too short. Plus the anti climatic (or rather cliched) ending, it's just totally uncool to see Megatron and his goons become scrap metal for new cars... Contrast with DH4, the ending is cliched too but at least Bruce shot himself to kill the bad guy... Now that was ingenious... I didn't expect that! As for HPTOTP, totally rip of man... Action, check. Explosion, not really. Suspense, check (It's just the one who must not have any hair, Lord V! Not Vader!) Dry wit, nah it was quite serious. Perseverance? Not at all... Mr. Harry was whining almost half the time he reminded me of Mr. Frodo in LOTR:ROTK, with all his dark eye bags and crazy, deranged looks... Perhaps my expectation of the movie was too high... But seriously, it felt disjointed too... Unlike DH4 & Transformers where the movie flowed from one scene to the next... Anyway, enough criticism... Gonna watch Simpsons next!!!

To conclude, I admit July was kinda fun with CCC in full swing. However due to my gaffe, life is gonna become worse and I had best start preparing for it in any way I can, lest I be swept away by the storm... Why can't all this happen after I ORD?
