Battlefield 2007

Allegiance have been announced, battle lines have been drawn, stategies and tactics meticulously metted (correct spelling?) out and the pieces are (hopefully) in place... The next month will be a crucial one... 2 victories are all I need to secure at least a credible success for 07... If I succeed, at least I have smt to show for 07... Just keep up the rain and the strong winds!!!

Right my com died on 190107 and despite several resuscitations, it remained dead till today's miraculous revival... Hopefully it won't die again... (I admit I want a new com but at least wait till I ORD right?) Ok loads of things happened this past week... Let's see where to start... In random and non chronological order...

Life as I know it will not be the same anymore... Because of some unforseen and unfortunate circumstances, instead of the early prediction that it can only get better, it will get worse. Well these radical circumstances will definately serve as an acid test on my strategic aptitude and also my proficiency in adapting to a new system which deviates from the norm... Time to go back to the drawing board again...

Lance the Dragon trainer [sic] came to talk to us recently. He mentioned about loads of stuff that unfortunately cannot be discussed... In a nutshell, Pokemons [sic] have more rights than Pokemon trainers [sic]... So let's say if (for eg) Pikachu (everybody's fav Pokemon! k maybe not...) were to complain that Pokemon trainers [sic] treated it badly, we'll get it from the SPCP (Singapore Prevention of Cruelty to Pokemons) unless we got the CCTV camrer [sic]... Then he quoted something that was kinda wrong. "... If u are righteous [sic], we will support u..." So does that mean that righteous ppl get all the support and unrighteous ppl will not be supported? Well u decide... Well the signs are clear to me that it will be a protracted civil war...

And finally, welcome to the Arena! "I need to visit my relatives on CNY, therefore I take leave as I am supposed to be working on that day" Is it fair for one person to use the above excuse at the expense of others? Gee that's a tough question isn't it... If u want to visit ur family, u'll argue and use all kinds of excuses to get the leave approved... But detractors argue that it's not fair to the other peeps... Right let's analyse the motion...

For:
1) My family is very big... My father's side got (no.) siblings and my mother's side got (no.) siblings. There's not enough time to visit all of them. (the bigger the no., the more convincing the stand right?)
2) Leave is my privilege to take as and when I want.
3) It's first come first serve right? I mean I planned it earlier than all of u.

Against:
1) It's not fair to the rest of the peeps... Are u trying to say that ur family is more important than other ppls family?
2) Leave is ur privilege but we are working on a shift system so definately there will be ppl who will lose out. If ppl had the same idea as u, there'll be nobody working on important hols. Everybody will be rushing for leave and this will bring out the typical "kiasu" Singaporeans.
3) Define "first come first serve". Shouldn't approval of leave be judged by the reason and intension and not who planned it first?

See what I mean? Now life is gonna get worse... I can feel the calm before the storm now... Then it will be a crazy feburary... The war will be won or lost next month... Better brace urselves... It's gonna be intense with external, internal and civil wars raging all round... Flashpoints everywhere... By the end of feb, when the dust lifts, I wonder if there will be pieces to pick up for rebuilding or will things spiral downwards to a bottomless pit? Stay tuned folks! Battlefield 2007...
