No Man Is An Island

Today is an emotional day... Ok not really, just the evening was emotional... Morning I went to Funan to claim my X box. (finally!) Halo 2 and MechAssault 2 rocks... Ya while Chin Leng and Eugene Quek came my house for 06, I was whacking the covenant troops... Anyway, the Lautenia Cup ended after some tense extra time. Eugene won me 2-1 in a tense final @ Anfield... Wha we drew by full time so in extra time he scored one... I couldn't recover... Ya so tt's how it ended... Then we realised we were late for candlelight session, so we rushed to VJC... Ya so almost everyone was there.... Everyone had to say smt... Well I didn't prepare a speech so I made it short... But perhaps I would expand it here...

Firstly, I want to thank Mr. Kwei. He is the reason I managed to get into VJC for 1st 3 mths... Not results... Yup so I wanna say a big thank you to him. To add on, thank you Mr. Kwei for conducting VJC for Choir Olympics 04 in Bremen and SYF 05... Thank you for having faith in me and guiding me for 6 yrs since I joined Tk choir. It is an honour to sing with VJC male chorus for Genting 03 and an extremely great honour to sing solo for Hainan and Gaudete... Once again a big thank you for the 6 yrs of guidance!

Secondly, I want to thank the tenor section... Tenors rock! I really had fun singing with such professional tenors like Ben Lee, Jian Hao and Marcus Lee... Sectionals (or slacktionals) was fun and tiring. I admit sleeping during the first sectional for Pamugun and scrambling to sight sing it for combine... But it was really fun correcting Jian Hao of all the wrong notes! We joked, laughed, played and really worked our socks off at the right time. I remember the time tenor section really worked real hard and seriously during Bremen to correct our Kucinta notes a day before the competiton. It was scary and tense but we still had fun. We really bonded!

Thirdly, I want to thank my peers. Gabriel and co. Jia Yun and co. Jian Hao, Tiong, Joel, Shawn, Wei Lin, Kai Wen and Joshua for correcting me in any minutely detail ever possible (pitch, timing what have u...) The music co. for their guidance and conducting with such passion.

Fourthly, I want to thank my juniors... Marucs for teaching/ correcting me. Martin for being an SL... Asik my slacker friend, and other juniors who are not in tenors for helping me like Jeremy Yeo, Marie, Evelyn etc...

Then there is the surreal dream... Choir Olympics, SYF, Grand Finals and other scintillating stuff like SOV and caroling!!! Time really flies... It seemed only yesterday I was walking into Siglap for the Genting Male Chorus practice. Now I am graduating from VJC choir. Ya it's sad. There were happy moments like Os Justi, Water Night etc or singing the national anthem with pride for the first time and really meaning it. There was also bad moments like the countless scoldings from Mr Kwei. Personally I remember the scolding tt Ben Lee and me received for not following the timing for Hainan. I'll never forget that. It was really scary.

After that we sang No Man Is An Island. Suddenly flashbacks of the song we did in Germany and at SCH after the SYF filled my mind... So thank you VJC choir for the good memories! (and the bad too!)

After that Joel, Cl, Eq, Asik, Shawn, Evelyn and me went to bedok interchange to eat dinner. Ya tt place also brought back memories of the countless dinners there after siglap practice... Really sad to see us split... Soon we'll all be in different places... But the memories will still remain!

Yesterday I went to MacD to meet Cl and Eq... We were supposed to help Evelyn again for her R paper... I asked Justin Hui to come along to help him with his chem hw... Surprisingly MJC's chem hw is quite difficult... But cannot beat VJC's prelim chem paper! Muahahaha!!!
