Vodka Mania!

VODKA ROCKS!!! It was a Friday night. I met Joel at City Hall Interchange to go to Cheryl's birthday bash in Raffles The Plaza. I bought 4 bottles of drinks and brought Chistopher Poo's signature while Joel bought a card and a pair of earrings! Then we split the cost of the presents and then proceeded to the hotel. Along the way we met some OCIP people who were also invited. Right... the hotel room was big( cos there were two Queen size beds) and we had a nice view of the Esplanade and the war memorial. Man... to think that we will be carolling at Ritz and Raffles Hotel next week...

Anyway we started eating early at 7 cos more people will be coming later. The food was ok. I got a couple of sausages, sotong balls and plenty of french fries. The room started filling up as more of Cheryl's friends came. It was inevitable that something big was gonna happen.

It just happened like a flash. Joel passed me a glass of colourless 7up. However looks can be deceiving. After taking a gulp, I realised Cheryl added something extra. Something that tasted bitter, something that made my throat burn (not literally) and something that I only drank once at the class chalet. VODKA! So beautiful, so nice. And it wasn't even 10 yet it was only 8. I wondered what would happen later. Little did I expect what was to come.

I finished my first cup at the balcony while looking at the lights of the City. Ok my face felt hot. Suddenly my face alternated between hot and cold. Woah that was like so unique. Then Michelle came and gave me this cute little unicorn that had sweets inside. They told me to hold the unicorn high while they blindfolded Cheryl. After much difficulty, she managed to find the unicorn I was holding and whacked it with a pole. At first nothing happened. Then she hit harder and the head seperated. So I held the body and she whacked it. But then she whacked my thumb instead. My face already red from Vodka and then now became a shade redder cos my thumb was like damn pain. I had to hold an ice cube to numb the pain. She finally destroyed the unicorn and released the sweets hidden inside.

My second glass of Vodka 7 up came after my pain subsided. I drank half and then topped up with Kickapoo and some Vodka. Mixing drinks is fun ok. The resultant drink was sweet and bitter at the same time. By the time I finshed that 3rd cup my face was like totally woah. It was burning and red like some red giant star... Everybody thought I was drunk but I wasn't. I could still think clearly. They played a game called 99 and I lasted till the last two before I got kicked out. Then we played polar bear until 9. Ok after playing and washing my face I decided to drink another Vodka kickapoo which was my 4th. Finally the Vodka was finished.

But that was not the end. Cheryl brought out another bottle of Vanilla Vodka!!! Joel poured us some coke Vodka. That was my 5th cup... With the vanilla flavour vodka, it tasted like vanilla coke with a bitter taste. That was the best coke I have tasted. Vanilla Vodka Coke Rocks! Well I also tasted a bit of raspberry 7up with vanilla vodka. In the end I poured myself the 6th cup of Vanilla Vodka kickapoo which tasted better than the Vodka kickapoo. I thought that was the last cup and I was going to enjoy it.

Trouble came when I least expected it. One of Cheryl's friends dared me to drink that full cup in 1 go. But after seeing Joel finished 1/2 his cup in 1 go, I bargained for 2 goes. "Here goes nothing," I told myself. I could have drunk it in 1 go but I took in some air before I drank so I only managed to drink 3/4 the cup. I quickly drank the remaining 1/4. Ok that wasn't so bad. I went to wash my face and saw that it wasn't as red compared to after my 3rd glass. My body was getting used to the Vodka. My face is damn sensitive unlike Joel's. A little bit of alcohol and it will turn red. However I was not drunk as a lot of my friends thought. Looks can be deceiving...

I thought that was all. However I was damn wrong. The coup de grace came when I was about to leave. That same girl dared Joel and me to drink PURE VODKA WITHOUT ANY DILUTION. PURE FREAKING VODKA THAT WAS 1/4 THE CUP. We just took it and finished it in 1 gulp. I regretted that move. My throat burned. The bitter taste went up my nose. I could feel my pulse quickening!!! I handled the cup back to her and left hastily with Joel.

Now to describe the feeling: I felt hot. It felt like a suana where the temperature was raised by 5 degrees. My throat felt dry. My heart beat like a drum. I could hear the vibrations in my hold body. My heart was beating like I just ran 2.4 km. I felt dizzy, the floor looks tilted by 10 degrees. This were symptoms of running 2.4 km. But the feeling was cool, so surreal. I mean the feeling was like I just ran 2.4 km BUT I DID NOT SWEAT AND I DID NOT FEEL TIRED. Who the hell runs 2.4km and feels like that? It's sooo cooooolll. Now I know why they say red wine is good for health. But I was not drunk. I could still think clearly though I was on autopilot.

We managed to walk to the MRT station hastily and returned home without any trouble. When I came back I was so tired... I took a quick bath and slept immediately. Luckily I did not suffer from hangover though Joel was not that fortunate.

That night was an interesting experience. Almost became drunk but didn't. 1 more cup would have doomed me. VODKA ROCKS when mixed correctly with soft drinks! Now I'm in love with VODKA though it's ex cos of the 40% alcohol.
