It's Christmas Time

The past few days have been a wirlwind. I was exhausted from all the carolling practices last week. On Tuesday I woke up at 11am. So cool... It's so damn rare to wake up so late even though it's supposed to be a holiday for me. Haha... Well I soon went to Bedok Interchange en route to Siglap CC. Over there I met Simin, Joshua and Kai Wen. Kai Wen and me then started nugging scores en route to Siglap CC. Why were we so desperate? Cos we were about to be filmed for some Nelson documentary. This month was like so crazy... Singapore Idol, Carolling at Parco Bugis, now this Nelson documentary which will be shown on Channel 8 ( I think) and more carolling to come in Raffles/Ritz. Haha my whole holidays are gone. Anyway, we arrived there early so we played cards (as usual, anything from Bridge to Hearts and even Mahjong!) We did our warm ups and did Zhu Guan Li and Kucintaw, the songs that we were mugging in the bus. We went flat...and it sounded terrible. We were just not up to standard. I really have nothing to say cos I don't want to point fingers. I also have to improve my singing as well. We were then told to wait cos Catholic High Choir was gonna be filmed first. Why Cat High Choir? Cos they won in some Prague competition and they were the Champions... Tk choir went to but were trashed flat down. Never thought my ex choir would perform so badly. We played cards from 2 to 4 before they summoned us to be filmed.

Nelson really slimmed down since the last time we saw him. He told us to sing Zhu Guan Li. After 6 months of not doing that song, you tend to forget where to come in. Then he told us to sing Exultate Deo and some Christmas Carols. Apparently we did sound bad. He told us to support more and reminded us that we were an Olympic Choir. He told the media about our successes and told us that he expected the same standard. At least we improved a little after that... Half an hour later, the filming ended and we started learning our concert songs for the 28th of Dec. Some Laudate Dominum and For The Beauty Of The Earth which was damn easy as I could sight sing the whole song... After combining the songs, we were dismissed.

On Wednesday, Wei Lin woke me up to go swimming at 8 in the morn. That guy is just crazy about swimming. I agreed cos I knew a refreshing swim would wake me up( not to mention playing in the pool). We swam for 1 hour and then went to VJC for carolling practice. I have nothing to say about carolling pract... Just running through our songs and correcting the wrong notes. However with the exception of Joy to the World and Jingle Bells, all our other carols were flat. Even Chin Leng agreed with me. Well I guess that's part of life... Let's just hope we get better and peak during next year's SYF...

At night, I went with my mom to duplicate a key at Tampines Mall and to see the new handphones on offer. The K700i Hp caught our eye. It's a cool phone but it was out of stock...So sad. Oh well it's Christmas time. Things go out of stock pretty fast... Speaking 'bout It's Christmas Time, it reminds me of a carol with the same name!!!

"It's Christmas Time
Merry Christmas To You
It's Christmas Time
It's Time For A Carol
Time To Sing About The Little King
To Fill The Bowl And Roll Out The Barrel
Have Ourselves A Fling
We Greet A Friend
And Welcome A Stranger
Let Him Sing
Or Cheer Him On His Way
And Celebrate The Child In A Manger
Born On Christmas Day
Good Cheer For You And For Me
With Pleasure And Glee To Share
Oh We're So Happy To Be
Together On A Yule Tide Square
It Looks Like Snow
And Falls Like Snow
Just Take A Moment
Take A Look About
And Sing As Snow Flakes Fall
Merry Christmas To One And All"
