Everytime We Touch

Not by a long shot! Another traumatic 11 days have passed to the 77 mark. A stunner by Torres left Chelsea reeling, but not out of the game yet... They would go on to draw with Liverpool later in the 2nd half through a controversial penalty. On the parallel front line, a certain sinister organisation is leading me 5 goals to 4 (since that memorable day in Feb...)! Down and out? Absolutely not... Despite the failure of yet another of my brilliant plans and some unlucky and stingy prescriptions, 11 traumatic days had crept slowly by... Marred by foul language, perfunctory motions, morbid air and clandestine (I always wanted to debut that word!!!) politics, my world looks totally bleak indeed... If not for some interesting events in the past 11 days, my misery would have been compounded to the imploding point...

Firstly, exactly 11 days ago on a post National Day, it was Andrew Wah's birthday! A significant day partly because all the twenty years from my church (KPC) met to celebrate his birthday... But more importantly, it was more noteworthy than that. Andrew is the epitome of how a Christian teen (or youth more accurately) should behave in an evil world filled with nothing but darkness and sin... I've never seen a senior more dedicated to God's Word. His willingness to prioritise his time to serve God whole-heartedly through teaching ppl like me Bible Study or Evangelism to others, serves as an inspiration to the younger generation of the church. I admit that I am awed by his dedication to God and more often than not, his dedication puts my conscience to shame, that I am not doing enough... Of course he has his vices too... (which human except JC don't? Then again JC wasn't human...) Anyway due to my immense respect to him, I had to make it to his birthday party @ Pepper Lunch (it was their idea) in swanky Suntec City beneath the fountain of wealth... Despite chionging from camp, I was the last to arrive... But everybody had a great time... The girls (since their fav pastime was shopping) got him a posh shirt from I-forgot-where while (surprise surprise) I bought the birthday card for everybody to write their thoughts... Then it was off to another classy Jap dessert place @ Marina Square which I likewise forgot the name... The Shira whatever whatever (essentially cream with red bean paste and rice balls) was fabulously saccharine... Their sweet potato with sesame paste was to-die-for and the chocolate ice kachang lookalike was woah! As was the bill! Woah!!! Which the birthday boy gamely paid... (A bit anticlimax, getting him an expensive present and he paid for our desserts... It's like buying his own present indirectly!)

Secondly, on Mon the 13th, it was Wei Lin's birthday! I almost forgot but luckily he was free and asked me out for dinner... So I met him @ Plaza Sing after roaming round the various malls in Orchard Road... We decided on a nice meal @ Cafe Cartel, partly thanks to the waiver of the 10% service charge (oh the benefits of being a student!)... We reminisced about the past (Bremen, the tenors!!!) and talked about the future... Seriously, we support the teach-less-learn-more mentality! With our current days numbered (YAY finally after sooooo long!), it's time to plan ahead a little before our matriculation(not enlistment)!!!

Thirdly, just this Sat, there was a VC tenors outing!!! Don't ask me why but 2 "extra" Sops tagged along to this ritzy place called Brewerkz along the vibrant stretch of Clarke Quay... Our esteemed tenor SL Ying Jun was giving all tenors a treat just on the eve of our concert! The food was sumptuous and the beer rich... Beef, Lamb, Chips, French Fries, Mash Potatoes, tortillas and cheese... Heavenly sums up the feast... And of course what is an outing without the usual gossips... With 2 easy targets (and a little help from the alcohol I suspect...), the dirty linens started spewing forth... Needless to say, the floodgates were opened and we gained clearer insights on a certain couple... I won't be naming names... I'm a nice guy! Though I admit it was amusing to hear the descriptions, no matter how untrue or crude... Then it was dessert at the Chocolate Factory nearby where more teasing ensured, before we called it a night, just after full time of most EPL matches on that Sat... YC was gracious enough to give 1 half of the couple aforementioned and me a ride back... I felt a little Pai Seh and stupid to accept the ride home... It's not like it's exactly along the way... A detour was needed... Anyways why stupid? Cos I asked why the owner got an OPC... The answer? Cos the parking on weekdays in the CBD is expensive and cabbing to and fro is a cheaper alternative! D'OH! I felt instantly dumb... Yeah it made a hell lot of sense... Parking, especially in the CBD is by no ways cheap... I thought I learned that expensive lesson firsthand myself... Looks like I'm (still) a small fish in a big pond out there...

A point to ponder... To those ppl who are working with me (almost) daily, it seems like I missed out something! Absolutely not! Any event planned by the sinister organisation is a waste of my time and not worth recalling, if not remembering at all!!! I was just going through the motion as I was forced (like my other compatriots) to be present and make up the numbers. It is a valid point that some ppl in the abovementioned organisation had put in time and effort in planning an event so the least we could do is to put in some effort to participate in the event. That I can safely said I did... In the 5 games, I participated in 4! But however, a counterpoint would be that the majority (including me despite my participation) was not interested at all in the event so perhaps it was short sightedness on the lesser minority's part in failing to declare a vote for or against this hastily planned event... I mean after all, since we are supposedly supporters of democracy, shouldn't we follow the majority and call off the event instead of wasting everybody's time and effort? Perhaps we are inadvertently veering off the path of democracy into communism?

Whatever the outcome, it is the past now... Off in the distance and growing larger by the day is of course In Song... Gotta start memorising scores again... And of course the slow but inevitable return of the Great Pink (IC) Day (GPICD)!!! Oh those were the days... Cause everytime we touch I feel the static (unlike the 11B, so slimy!) and everytime we kiss I reach for the sky with my new found freedom...Really need you by my side so that I can make my 11B MIA... Haiz 77 more days!

Everytime We Touch (Candlelight Remix)
Cascada
I still hear your voice, when you sleep next to me.
I still feel your touch in my dreams.
Forgive me my weakness, but I don't know why.
Without you it's hard to survive.
Cause everytime we touch, I get this feeling.
And everytime we kiss I swear I could fly.
Can't you feel my heart beat fast, I want this to last.
Need you by my side.
Cause everytime we touch, I feel this static.
And everytime we kiss, I reach for the sky.
Can't you feel my heart beat so.I can't let you go.
Want you in my life.
Your arms are my castle, your heart is my sky.
They wipe away tears that I cry.
The good and the bad times, we've been through them all.
You make me rise when I fall.
Everytime we touch, I get this feeling.
Everytime we kiss I swear I could fly.
Can't you feel my heart beat fast, I want this to last.
Need you by my side.
Cause everytime we touch, I feel this static.
Everytime we kiss, I reach for the sky.
Can't you feel my heart beat so.I can't let you go.
Want you in my life.
