More Than Meets The Eye

Lots of ppl have watched Transformers these days and I am one of those "nerds" who "die die" had to catch it ASAP to answer the call to protect/destroy the Earth (depending on which side u support). Yeah watching the movie brings back many childhood memories... When our evil friend Blackout transformed from heli to robot, I almost cried... From nostalgia of course... I remember vividly rushing home literally everyday from Kindergarden to watch transformers the cartoon... Back when things were 2D and the cheesy theme "Transformers, Robots in disguise" played on every episode. It really stretched my imagination and made me wonder if any vehicle could transform into robots! That was in the 90s...

Of course things have changed since then... The 2D cartoons became CGI robots that we see today... Optimus Prime didn't have a trailer now but had (kinda cool) flame vinyls... Bumblebee morphed from a VW beetle to a bloody Chevy Camaro (WTH!)... Starscream became contented with boring grey (F22) instead of the retro red/blue paint job(F15)... Frenzy (CD player) replaced Soundwave (Cassette player)... Megatron became a Cybertron Jet instead of the trusty P38 used to blast the hell out of OP... And the lack of the 5 construction decepticons that can combine into the seemingly indestructable big robot!!! Anyways, it was a blast from start to finish... Too bad no cheesy theme of "Robots in disguise" but at least OP mentioned more than meets the eye twice- once when they came to earth and tansformed into vehicles (I think) and at the end of the movie (yup!)...

I have to say that it was thanks to cartoons like Transformers that helped to stretch my imagination to the limit... I admit the show was damn nice in a sense that it mixed the retro with some modern stuff but it had some cliffhangers/flaws... I mean how could the US army destroy both Blackout and Brawl??? I thought decepticons were like all powerful against human tech? Then what happened to Barricade the police car? Didn't feature in the last battle... Megatron's death was totally anticlimax... How could that "nerd" kill it by putting the allspark into Megatron's spark? Totally lame... And of course starscream the coward... Retreating after his "boss" died... Going to get Galvatron I bet... Or many Unicron to blow Earth sky high... I guess we shall have to stay tune for Transformers II...

But I won't drone on about Transformers... In life there's also things/events that are "More than meets the eye"... Take for eg Chorale pract (warning some spoilers ahead!)... When Mr Kwei did his songs in 6/8 timing with that bounce, everything just fell into place and the songs flowed smoothly... Then told us how to make a certain "communist- like" song less communist by singing lighter and faster... Woah!!! Really felt inspired man... Really didn't know that those songs which I consider boring or draggy would be so different... A sterling eg of "more than meets the eye"!

Then of course my life now is also "more than meets the eye"! In a way that I thought I could just go on a CCC and relax a little but it would seem that the enemy has realised my plans and are out to make life difficult for me... Case in point, my own supposedly "allies" backstabbed me... Those buggers... One day I'll unleash the Dark Side... Man they are just asking for it... So it seems that things are not as straightforward as it would seem... Battle lines have become muddled and dissolved... It's gonna be a messy fight to the finish... I guess I'll just store some more power to unleash at a later date.... Not to mention the TC(go figure!)...

As these 2 cases have shown, life is "more than meets the eye"... That's something that I've learnt this week... But right now I'm just gonna try my best to mug scores... It's that time of the month again... So stressful... Bring in on baby! I love it!
