Starstruck... Not!!!

Another reason why I just hate this job... I'm minding my own business, doing my own thing and suddenly, I've been criticised... Grrr... Luckily I got the uncanny ability to go stealth or else I'll explode in ur face...

Before I go into there... I finally finished C&C 3... Including the 5 bonus Scrin missons... Hopefully I can master the com and then play online by this weekend... Man... Why is the game campaign so short these days?

All right... Now today everybody was Starstruck... Except me... I mean so what's the big deal man??? There is only one God... We're all mortals after all... So what's there to be afraid? Right? Right! So there I was using my most advanced (better safe than sorry) stealth generator (Nod rocks!) and trying my best to blend into the surroundings (not easy u know...) when suddenly, Mew came into full view... Now I thought all was well until it chided me... Damn... Saw through me stealth generator... Shit... So it was time for the backup plan... One ear in, one out... I can't be bothered... Sticks and stones will break my bones but words will never harm me... Luckily Mewtwo was driven past without even batting an eyelid...

Afterwards, I had the privilege to drive a buggy... Wow it's damn hard even though I got a DL... No power steering... So reversing and parking was kinda hard... Had to move first before the bloody steering wheel can turn... Manz... And my friends were like booing me for my slow manuvering... Hey... Just being cautious u know...

Now the thinking part... Why should we all be Starstruck by ppl who are of a "higher status" than us? Are they not mere mortals like us? Are they that powerful that their gaze can kill? Are they that omnipotent that a word from them massacre thousands, if not millions? If the answer to any single one of these qns is "no", then I must highlight the course of action we ppl of "lower status" must take when we deal with these "special ones"... Be an Israelite... Seriously... Follow the way the Israeli Football team played England to a 0-0 draw in Tel Aviv... Were they starstruck to their more illustrious opponents? No! They matched the English man for man... Ok... Maybe it's hard to imagine... But it's true... If it's one thing I admire about the Israelis, it's their resilience... Despite being surrounded by more powerful and illustrious neighbours, they survived, albeit with some U.S intervention...

Too hard to swallow? Try Spurs or Watford... They were not starstuck by the wealthy Chelsea and did chase the game to the very end... Their tremendous efforts highlighted their indifference to the huge gulf in class between Chelsea and them...

So what is my point? My point is that we should learn from these sterling examples that we should not be starstruck to ppl of greater stature but be indifferent towards them. Only then will we be able to stand toe to toe with our more "important" peers and reap the benefits of not being in a lower position but being on par with them... Just like the Israelis... Tt's why I have my trusty stealth generator, regardless of the situation! :)
