Nostalgia

She stared intently at the window, as if mesmerised by the passing street lights outside, which in turn bathed her sea green uniform in an orange glow. Her green ring file ajar, her GP(?) notes trying its best but unfortunately failing to capture her attention. Occasionally, she either glanced at TV mobile showing "Just For Laughs", a wry smile forming at the edge of her slender lips, or at her polished nails on her unclenched fists, as if showing off her newly minted translucent pink nails to her school bag.

Suddenly, she snapped back out of her reverie. Taking out her GP(?) notes, she glanced through the first page, Chapter 1... Almost instantly, the lure of the bus window clouded her mind once more. Clearly fighting the urge to glance out at the enthralling street lights, she flipped to the second page. Alas, temptation got the better of her. Her head shifted to the left (like Beyonce's song...) and her eyes searched the dark surroundings illuminated by sporadic patched of orange halo.

Searching for what? Rather, what was she thinking about? That is a question I cannot answer. Demoralised by her lack of willpower and concentration, she flipped the pages of her notes while counting how many chapters she probably had to read later at home, away from all the distractions plaguing her unfocused mind. As she closed her file, her body seemed to heave a sigh of relief as she stood up to disembark the bus.

Got your attention didn't I? Sounds familiar? Yeah... That was my life once. 2-3 years back. Albeit replacing the file with an MP3 player... But yeah... I guess u could call it once upon a time... I can imagine some of my (ex)Victorian female classmates or friends doing exactly the same thing, if not similar... As for the guys... I'm sure some are guilty too... But mostly guys are either too focused or engrossed with the notes, or totally blasé(like me)... Maybe I'm wrong but that's not the main point... Neither is what the hell she was thinking... She could be thinking about her bf, gf, pet, Pokemon, Gucci, VS(go figure!!!) or Woman's Best Friend for all I care... Heck, I wouldn't even give a wooden nickel if she was contemplating a great Inter-Planetary War with her Martian...

The point is... NOSTALGIA! I kinda miss the Sec-JC life... The good times, the outings, the gossips, the bonding, the good results, the Choir practices and performances and others et al... Also the bad times, the stress, the pressure, exams, bad results[like failing chinese and going for extra lessons, but WTH, Lao Shi and Infernal Affairs make it ok;)], the crazy hectic schedules, the scoldings from Nelson(Will you all just SHUT UP!!! Kinda makes Sir Alex's hairdryer technique pale in comparison!) and et cetera... You must think I'm crazy wishing for a stressful life... Well you're wrong!!! Even the bad things about Sec-JC life pale in comparison to life now... How naive of me wishing JC life to quickly end... Given a choice now, I would rather face A levels than what I'm facing now... As life gets more and more difficult daily, I wish that time would fly... Either that or I get more chances to hide inside... But enough of all these talk... If life gets more difficult, then I guess I have no choice but to do my own thing all the way from now on... After all, I'm taking what my boss said literally... So looks like the mind games have begun... Sometimes I wonder why this life feels like this EPL season...
