Until The Universe Can Fit Inside My Heart

Ok this is the bloody verse tt my small grp went sharp at... Damn pissed... Everything was ok lor... Ok Choir Pract is getting tougher and longer. This kinda reminded me of the period of time before SOV and Choir Olympics when we just learnt all the songs and were in the process of memorising and polishing them... Ahh I miss those days... Anyway, reality check... Right so here we are this cold, wet Sat morning memorsing all our Eric Whitacre songs... Ok tt's cool man! I think I should have memorised them all except Cloudburst and I Thank You God... Leonardo is a damn nice song and it's getting nicer each time we do it... Yeah man! Lux was flat... Really terrible... I hope we improve on it asap. It may be easy but it's easy to go flat too... At least after half squat, it sounded better... Rose is... ok? Haha tenors too loud for the solo line as usual... But then again it's a solo line so it should be soft if sung by the whole tenor section... Hmm makes sense! Ahh Lily was ok but still flawed... Anyway more of tt later... Then we split into yr 1 and yr 2 to do our special song... Zhu Li Guan brought some memorises from choir olympics! We were singing it and it was nice... At least our standard didn't drop tt much. A little flat or sharp here and there. A little more pract and we should be ok... Then we had excess time as usual cos our Zhu Li Guan was ok... We sang Leonardo! Haha the yr 2s Leonardo! It was damn nice (ok maybe I'm biased). Maybe each batch should perform their SOV pieces and then we can compare the mistakes and the good points! Then we decided to sing Water Night... All dedicated to Eric Whitacre! Haha too bad we aren't gonna perform tt song! It's damn nice. I missed it. We sang it and it was really good with all the feelings and dynamics etc... It really reminded me of last year! So cool! Too bad the seniors are not here... Then the yr 1s came back and we performed for each other... Our Zhu Li Guan was sharp... Grrr not a good feeling man... The year 1s were ok I guess. Some ambiguous notes though... Then lunch break...

Small group again... At least they made it even this time... They really managed to mix everyone evenly into groups of 4-5... Oh my group was Bing, Jamie and Edwin... We decided to take the roof of Siglap South CC... Haha damn fun la... It was drizzling while we were trying not to get wet and singing at the same time... Not bad we were quarter tone sharp for both times... A bit of split notes here and there... Haha and then it was "Siglap Idol"... Ok having a Sl in your group doesn't ensure success... I'll be frank. In fact the first 2 groups which had our SCs were not good( not saying tt our SCs flopped, rather, kudos to them for valiently trying to salvage the pitch! I found the blowing pitch pipe part to be quite amusing;) ) After abt 5 groups, Wei Lin was telling me if Nelson was here, we'ld be dead! I have to agree most of the groups weren't really up to performance standard, let alone competition standard... Man we only have a month. Time's running out! Ahh my group was suay... Last page go semitone sharp... So I tried to reach the A# and broke trying! So pai seh... Haha guess I still got lots to learn... In fact I agree with Gab tt we got lots of things to work on and improve! Yeah I hope we have enough time! Then it was Pamugun! It was much improved! Really could hear tt we improved! Our energy level's back!

Then it was crunch time... Nelson wanted to hear our Lily in front of MJC Choir... When we came in he gave us that do-or-die look... Man were we scared! Luckily it was ok... Performance standard not competition standard yet... Nelson said he'll work with us to correct some errors... Then he said might as well do Pamugun... So we did and Nelson said it was good! Whew!!! We were so bloody relieved! Yeah man! Keep up the good work ppl... Gab great job man!! You rock! However we must not be complacent! We still got a long way to go and a lot of areas to improve on! Yup!
